Eleatha had tied the bed sheets together, she had locked her door, she had everything she needed to scale down the castle wall, except one thing. She was terrified of hieghts. Absolutly hated them, and yet she lived in a castle...
"I never asked to be born with royal blood..." She muttered as she went to her balcony. She took several deep breaths then started down.
About thirty minutes later, her slipper covered feet touched the ground. She leaned against he brick walls for only a moment before she took off into the night.

She was lost in the forest, great and she had to find her friend from the village. He said he'd be waiting for her at their typical meeting place, but something about the woods was different tonight. And that unnerved her. Eleatha pulled her cloak closer to her body, to help keep out the cold, and it did a fine job. It was just a different cold she wished would disappear.
Maybe this was a bad idea. Running away and everything...but it's not like I had a choice. Before long she was arguing with herself and she hadn't noticed she'd gone off the path. In fact she was so caught up in comtimplating whether she should just turn around, that she screamed like a banchee when she was grabbed from behind.

A hord of bandits had been following her, as the leader held a knife to her throte. "Whats a pritty little thing like you doing out this late? You must be royalty." The man licked up her neck, as his stubble scratched her skin, the other men laughed as they watched there leader have his fun.

Eleatha forced her body to be still and relaxed. Granted she'd never delt with bandits before but she wasn't stupid. "Why would you think that my lord?" She didn't dare move and inch, but her mind was panicking, what the hell was she supposed to do? She was a fool for leaving at this time of night, and she should have made better plans but here she was, trapped. But then she had an idea.
"Not to sound idol, but I wouldn't kill me if I were you."

The man moved so now his arm was around her neck, and pulled her a little closer, as to whisper in her ear. "Why is that?" He held his knife to her eye now.
A sound came from the tree above them. The men looked up, to see a shadow with wings, and glowing eyes. The shadow replied, "Cause she is with me." The shadow jumped from the branch he was purched upon, and landed in front of the bandits.
His wings were about 8 feet in length, and a tail that whiped back and forth. His eyes glowed yellow, and as he breathed, a yellow mist came from his mouth. He was about 6'11", and had long white hair, and wore regualr worrier cloths.
He walked up to the leader bandit, and pushed him back with one hand, and wraping it around Eleatha, as to keep her safe. The bandit fell to his ass, then pointed his blade at the protector, and said "Your dead!"
The protector's eyes lit up brighter, and he muttered "I dont think so." He smiled, then opened his mouth, as a wve of flame purd out, and engulfed the bandits.

Eleatha wasn't exactly sure what was happening, or who or what this creature was, but either way; she couldn't keep her body from shaking any longer. The bandit's blade left a small mark, but nothing that wouldn't heal. In any case, she didn't have to use the tactic she had planned on, which was a good thing, considering she wasn't even sure if it'd work.
She instinctively burried he face in her resucer's clothing, not sure what the yellow fumes would do.

As the protector stoped the onslught of flame, he looked at what was left. Nothing but smoldering bodies of ash.
He looked down at Eleatha. She was still holding him, and her eyes were closed. The man shook her "Princess, sweet heart, its ok, its over."

She slowly opened her eyes. She still wasn't sure what was going on, but she did know was that someone had saved her life. She glanced up at him, he knew who she was-of course he did! Who didn't in this land? But at the same time...juudging by his body and his wings, he diffenately wasn't from around here. She pulled the hood of her cloak to reveal slightly curly auburn locks that feel past her shoulders. Her sea blue eyes were staring dispite all of her meantal commands not to. Who was he? Where did he come from? But more importantly, why would he save her life?

As he looked down at Eleatha, his eyes turned from yellow, to light brown, his hair slowly shrunk to shoulder size, and his wings somehow retrackted into his back. He soon became a more familiar face.

Eleatha grew wide-eyed at who stood before her, or rather whose arms she was wrapped in so protectively. She wasn't to sure what to do...to hug him, thank him, or slap him. Instead she found herself blushing and pushed him away so there would be distance between them, she began playing with her hair, and looking to the ground as she scolded him.
"Dante, you shouldn't scare me like that! You couldn't have been hurt...or worse." She knew that wasn't true but what else was she supposed to say? "Dante...why didn't you ever tell me?"

Dante looked at the ground, and kicked a pin cone. "I wasnt sure if you would stil like me if you knew i had dragon blood in he." He was a cross breed of human and dragon. It was an odd prosses to have a half breed, but his mother had given birth to a half human, and half dragon. He looke up at her, "Will you still come with me?"

Eleatha heard the uncertainty in his voice and looked at him. She hadn't meant to hurt his feelings, not in the least. She was just shocked was all. A small smile found it's way to her face. She earsed the distance and embraced her best friend.
"Of course I'm still coming with you." She whispered. "Besides, who else would I trust with my life other then you?" Eleatha wasn't sure if he knew the whole meaning behind her question but he would soon enough. Taking his hand she smiled. "Let's go."

Dante smiled, then looked up into the tree. He jumped up, then returned to the ground with his bag. "Ok, ready." they walk off into the mist filled morning.

They'd made it to the village with no furhter hassels, although she wondered what someone would do when they came across what was left of the bandits, but she put that out of her mind as she watched the sun rise. She felt her stomach protesting to not being fed, but she ignored it, know she and her companion would have a long journey ahead of them.

Dante looked around, he saw a meat stand. He quickly walked over to it and asked for about a months worth of meat. he pulled out a large sum of gold, and handed it to the stand owner, then stuffed the meat into his bag. He looked to Eleatha, and smiled. "We are going to need food, right?" he chuckled.
